Don't forget to join the group for the movie this coming Sunday, May 25th. We'll meet at the mall theater by 3:45pm for the 4:00pm showing. Miranda and I won't be able to be there, but we saw the film today and it was incredible! Better than the first. We will still have plenty of adults there in our place though: Daniel & Robin Johnson, Kelly Colosimo, & Melody Miller. Be sure to thank them too. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend and pray for everyone to have safe travel. (Miranda, Kasen, and I are going to Ft Worth to see my family. I'm sure there are many others traveling too.)
Here are just a few things to look for in the movie:
What happens when Peter goes into battle without Aslan?
Notice Aslan's response when Lucy comments on Him getting bigger.
What happens when a little girl with the little knife has a little faith at the edge of the bridge? Reminds me of the "faith of a mustard seed can move a mountain" scripture. (Matthew 17:20)
The army drowns while Aslan's people are on dry ground. (Parting of the Red Sea)
What kept Lucy from following Aslan when she first saw him? Anyone else ever been tempted to follow everyone else?
Later she asks Aslan, why He didn't reveal Himself to them. Do you think it was a matter of Aslan not "revealing" Himself or more a matter of them not being ready to "see" Him?
Caspian has the opportunity to kill Miraz just before the big battle. Why does he make the choice that he does? In I Sam 24:1-22 David has a similar opportunity with Saul.
At the end of the film, notice when does Aslan start celebrating - before, during, or after the battle over Narnia? As Christians, we can be confident that we are "more than conquerors" (Rms 8:28) even before our battles are over.
