Here are scriptures we have paraphrased so far: We did Philemon the first week and Psalm 24 the next. There are quite a few versions of Psalm 24. If you wanna see the Philemon one a little better, click on it and the picture will expand.
Psalm 24 Background:
David, as he was gaining popularity among the Israelites, used to walk past Jebus. (a sinful city which was never conquered by Joshua - Joshua 15:63) When he walked past people would stand at the city gates and taunt him saying “when you become King, you’ll never take us over. We could even put our blind and lame out to fight you and you couldn’t take us.” David remembered & the first thing he does as king (2 Samuel 5:1-10, 1 Chronicles 11:1-5) is take over their city. Psalm 24 is what he sang as he marched the ark of the covenant (the presence of God) into the city and through the very same gates where they used to taunt him. Danny, Jacob, Kaleb
The world is the Lord’s and everything that lives in it. Because He made all the stuff in it. Who can climb the mountain of God and stand at the top? Who is sinless? Whoever it is will get a present from God and his righteousness and salvation. This generation will find Him. So lift up your heads and the gates will open. And the doors will open so God can come in. Who is the King of glory? God is!! Who is strong and mighty in war? God!! So he will lift up the gates. Open the ancient doors so the King will come in!! Who is the King of Glory? God!! Cristy, Madison, Jordan, Ashleigh
God owns the world including everything that lives on it. It was established on the waters by Him. Who can get up the mountain of God and stand upon it? Those of you whose hands and hearts are clean - who have not worshipped other things and have not sworn. You will receive God’s blessing and salvation. This generation seeks God's face. Make the gates rise and doors open, so the King can come in. Who is the King—the glorious King who is strong and mighty in battle? Open the gates and doors so the King can come in—the almighty King is coming! Justin Mikulencak
The earth and all who call it home is the Lord's. He laid the foundations on ocean and the supports on the rivers. For who can stand upon the summit of Mt. God? Who is worthy to stand in His presence? The one with clean hands. The one with a pure heart. The one whose soul is the Lord’s. The one who speaks the word of God. For he will be blessed by God. He will receive salvation. For this is the generation of God, who seeks after God’s own heart. Rise up gates. Make an entrance. God is tired of waiting to come in. Who is this great King? The Lord is mighty and strong. The Lord who no one can rival. Rise up o gates. Crack open ancient doors. God is tired of waiting to come in. Who is this glorious King? It is the Lord who is pure glory, King over everything!
